Cub Scout Co-Operation

Cub Scout pack 232 (Immaculate Conception) is invited on a trip to Ohio Caverns by pack 329 of St. Helen's. It turns out that our assistant Cubmaster went to school with the Cubmaster of pack 329. We look forward to hearing how the event works out.

Please note that posts before this one are "historical". This blog expressly for partnering and regional news was created after many of these items were posted in the bulletin. Therefore, the dates you see them posted may not make sense - and that's why.

Memorial Day Mass

A wonderful Memorial Day mass was celebrated on May 29 at St. Helen’s Church. Many veterans were present, as well as the families of deployed and current service personnel. Fr. Dave Brinkmoeller was the celebrant; Fr. Chris Worland blessed the military parties; and at the flagpole, Fr. Anthony Geraci led prayers for the deceased. This was an excellent example of “partnering in action.”

Regional Plan Update

The revised/updated regional plan for Immaculate Conception and St. Helen’s goes to the Dayton Deanery on June 15. Once the plan is accepted by the Deanery, a summarized report will be published in the bulletin.
The Regional Planning Committee continues to explore areas where IC and St. Helen’s can work together, sharing resources and providing a stronger program for the Catholic community.

Statement of Unity for Catholic Education

A
Common Statement of Unity for Catholic Education

The Pastors and Principals of Immaculate Conception, St. Helen’s and
Ascension schools are committed to ensure that all children in these
parishes have an opportunity for a Catholic Education.

Because of our commitment to work together for the future of Catholic
education, we agree not to accept enrollment of students from each
other’s schools until a further process of regional planning has taken
place, to ensure the best plan of education possible.

Our parishes have begun collaborative discussions with one another on a
number of levels to promote a strong and secure future for our
children’s education.

Memorial Day Mass

On May 29, 2006, the three parishes of Ascension, Immaculate, and St. Helen’s will gather at St. Helen’s to celebrate Memorial Day Mass for our deployed and deceased military personnel. Come join in our regional partnering mass. All three pastors will celebrate. In the meantime, we are looking at our mass schedules, as some alterations are being considered.
